I am writing this post to put in words what I have always been trying to show through Make Up. So, who am I? I am a 19 year old girl from Suffolk, who has done AS Level Psychology, Sociology and Business. Yes, only AS level... I didn't feel the need to complete them qualifications as they were SO not for me. Then, I decided to do an Extended Diploma in Media. That was fun. Got to design and produce a Live show and meet lots of people who have worked in the industry. Studying that particular course gave me a chance to do Art again... (I say again because I did it in school which got me an A grade GCSE). I slowly started realising that this is what I wanna do. At the time I was obsessed with YouTube videos and people that were posting make up tutorials. I found it so fascinating I decided to do a degree in it.
Even though I didn't study Beauty at college, I studied Psychology. This made me learn about emotions, feelings and human behaviour. I try and transfer all that knowledge into what I do now. I try and create deeper meanings to every single one of my looks. Every single one has to have a character or a hidden message.
Our first assignment is based on the Elizabethan era. I am really looking forward to learning more and more about it. So far, I have found it very interesting... The fact they all wanted to have red, frizzy hair. Or that only the higher class people wore red fabric. However, I do fear a few things when it comes to doing this assignment! One of them is thinking of ideas. Are they going to be good enough? Are people going to understand them? Are they going to be unique and original? I want to start creating my own style already and I really want to avoid being 'average'. On the other side, I am looking forward to learning all the skills that I will gain while trying to complete this project. For example, presenting in front of the class or simply talking about the history of make up and looking at it as inspiration for my future looks.
